  1. Some TF animation can be really, uh, questionable. I liked Superlink, myself, haven't seen and Galaxy Force yet...is it really bad? The Japanese G1 dubs do my head in. I can't adjust to the characters being called Billy and Philip in the slightest There's a couple of guys who do a good job translating the mangas though. The Archive is a good site to find out info. Also, http://www.seibertron.com/ is good, but then I'm bound to say that. :D
  2. Sorry mate, but the US and UK comics are pretty much the same continuity, the UK ones contain extra material is all. One can choose to ignore the UK stuff and only consider the US comic material canon, if you want I suppose, but seeing as the UK material includes it all anyway - apart from a change to do with the origin of Goldbug and the turning of 'The Big Broadcast of 2006' into a story told by Wreck-Gar, and some of it is in a slightly different order - most people don't bother. From that Encyclopedia thing: From the Archive:
  3. Hmm, kind of. The US comic was monthly, the UK one weekly, so even splitting the US issues in half, the UK boys still had to come up with 2 weeks of original stuff. There were 80 US comics, but 332 UK ones, along with Annuals and specials. The UK guys did lots of original material that fits in-continuity around the US stories, which as said, they did reprint, chopping the stories up into 2 issues as they did so. There's more UK stories than US ones. And I personally think the UK comics were better, as you got the same stories as were in the US comics, new UK-only stories, plus back-up strips like GI Joe, Visionairies, Machine Man and sometimes whacked-out stuff like Rocket Raccoon or Hercules. Oh, and they pretended a TF did the letters page, which was actually sometimes pretty funny. There's a good TF comic FAQ here: http://tfarchive.com/comics/genone/faq/index.php And coz I'm a sad bastard, G1 Megatron was a Walther P-38, not a Luger. Feeble robot mode on that toy, lookit at that pic <shudders>.
  4. Heh, I still pick up TF toys. Got a reissue Blitzwing sitting on the desk right now. And my fave Transformer is probably Grimlock from the old Marvel UK comics. Oh, War Within is a prequel to Dreamwave's G1 series. It just stops halfway thru the 3rd miniseries coz the company went bust.
  5. Dunno if it's a proper bug or I just did something weird to get this to happen, but I think it qualifies as wacky... Was playing the Onderon Palace finale yesterday with my Sith Lord character, threw Insanity on all the Royalist guards and then Master Kavar ran at me. After the talky bit I fought Kavar and totally whipped him....except he wouldn't die. Got his vitality bar down to nothing, and he still kept fighting me. After a short period of zapping this undead Jedi Master with all my force powers I got bored and ran away, triggering the scene with the Queen and the General. During the cut-scene I could hear Kavar's saber and 'fighting-sounds' and then when I went to fight the Queen he was standing behind me sabering me, still with no vitality. So I had to fight the Queen and hold off Deadite Kavar at the same time, and then when I killed the Queen I got the cut-scene with the General and in the background...Kavar was still trying to kill me! Dude, give it up! Then I got kicked back to Dxun and HK-47 and Kreia (who were my party) won't talk to me anymore (they're totally non-responsive) and I never got the scene where Kreia revitalises Colonel Tobin (Do you get that if you play DS? This is my first DS trip to the Palace, I got that scene as a LS player.) Needless to say, I'm going to be reloading and doing this again.
  6. Forgive me if this is a silly suggestion, but if it isn't a shield/map thing and is an actual technical thing, have you tried turning your graphics options down to the most basic settings? I say that because it sounds like a technical issue I have. In 2 areas in the game I get uncontrollable character movement/stuckage that sounds kinda similar; the 'steamy' Peragus Tunnel sections and the alien bar on Nar Shadda. I have to turn all my graphics options down to the most utterly basic settings possible to get through them without any problems. Before I enter those areas. Then once safely through them I can turn all the graphics options back up to max.
  7. Part of a dropped subplot then? I was kinda expecting that I'd just misinterpreted it, so I went back and wrote it all down properly-like. So, if anyone is interested or this helps show that I'm misunderstanding: Recruited Mandy, got cut-scene of him and Bao-Dur arguing. Went to talk to Kreia and picked option 2 - I have questions and I want answers Then got a new option 1: PC: "Do you know what happened to T3?" KREIA: "Betrayal. And by a machine, that I will not abide. Machines. Always did Revan use them to inflict her will upon the galaxy, whether in war or assassination. Her passion for such tools, for things dead to the Force, defies me. She would have loved a human droid such as you, dead to the Force, a shell that would carry out her orders. It is no matter - it is a machine and now it is broken." >kicked out of dialogue< Still sounds like Kreia busted up my droid coz she's narked at me and I have like sod-all influence with her. Old bitch. Guess it probably is part of one of those dropped plots them. Cheers.
  8. Hey guys, delurking at last, as I just came across a weird conversation option that didn't make sense to me, and I don't recall reading about it previously, wondered if anyone knew wtf it was about (apols if there is another thread mentioning it embarrassingly nearby): Went to talk to Kreia onboard the Hawk, and got a new dialogue option in the questions sub-menu; 1:"Do you know what happened to T3?" Kreia then goes into a short speech about how she can't abide betrayal by machines and that how Revan was obsessed with using machines and and things dead to the Force and how Revan would probably have loved my PC as I was like a droid. She then says (argg, memory going) something like 'It doesn't matter, it is just a device and now it is broken'' then boots you out of dialogue - I paraphrased that last bit slightlly, but her last sentence did infer to me that T3 has not only been greased, but that (combined with the thing about how she won't abide betrayal) she is the one wot did it. Of course, T3 is busy welding away in the engine room and is fine, fine. At first I thought the PC was asking if Kreia knew what happened to T3 before the game's story started, but I def got the impression it was actually about an event that was supposed to have ocurred but hadn't another cut thing maybe, like I was supposed to find T3 broke or get a cut-scene of him being trashed or something. Whatever, it doesn't seem to fit the narrative of my current game and I wondered if it made sense to others, like have I misread/misinterpreted it or something. The question seems to go away after you've asked it the once. I'm on my second play-thru, my PC is a complete DS scheming bitch Consular/Lord who doesn't really get on with Kreia and I just recruited Mandalore, if that makes any difference.
