DLC - What happens with DLC when i done game with Trial of Iron?

Hi guys,

 

now i'am playing Pillars of Eternity 2 on the Path of the Damned with Trial of Iron and scalling up levels. And i wonder if DLC coming up, what happens with my save? Can i play this dlc on this save file? Cause i can't log on earlier save spot, cause i didn't have any. Only one. Any helps? I was thinking maybe don't finish game with this save and wait on DLC.

Start again. I had to do it in POE 1 many times cause I only play Trial of Iron/Triple Crown
