I can't seem to get rid of a Hired Adventurer, and it tells me that I am maxed out on the amount of adventurers i can have

Have you tried taking them out back and hacking on them until they die? That may work. In case you don't know, you can hit party members by clicking on the sword icon and targeting them.

  3. Adjust your preference.
