Now that I have finished the main story of that, is there anything else I should be looking to complete before heading over to Deadfire? Do I need to beat Thaos again, or does it not matter since the game doesn't save after that anyway? Any particular side-quests that are worth doing due to implications in Deadfire? Thanks!

You need to kill Thaos again to save your White March decisions. The game does actually save after killing him, but it's a hidden save.
