How many dialogues we have for sidekicks?

Recommended Posts

I read something from forum and expected them to have as many dialogues as Mazzy in Balder's Gate 2. However, I found that my first sidekick (massage guy) is quite disappointing, just very short conversation then he joined and he does not look like will be involved in any major side quest like Mazzy or give some comments during the main or side quests. In bg2, companion with fewer stories still comment and talk with the other companions and npc sometime.

So I would like to ask, are the sidekicks in this game talk as much as bg2?

Do they involve a lot in one major side quest like Mazzy?

Do they give some opinions in main quests? How about other side quest?

Do they talk to other companions or side kick or vela (as banter)?

Or, do they really say anything else after joining the party?

If they just keep quiet after joining, then it is quite disappointing..

I think OE need to make heavier research what is minimum for players and sidekick, for me it is something like:

10 min of text (like BG2)

some backstory

some barters with Companions but not other sidekicks

some opinion about our big buddy

personal quests would be an asset but if no idea it is also fine

no relations. This could be an advantage, since i have enought judgy fellows already.

Other aproach: Create hires background templates with tags like class or race, and when you roll a hire just attach backstory.

More aproaches: make more portraits, add some barters to voice templates, since this is as much personality as sidekicks go.

Do you mean all stated here are not available at the moment?
