May 9, 20188 yr  If you're referring the the skill assist bonus to dialogue checks, that's driven by this table:  (Total Companion Skill, Assist Bonus) 1, 1 2, 2 4, 3 7, 4 11, 5 16, 6 22, 7 29, 8   Ahh, a variation of triangular numbers. To get assist bonus n, one needs a total companion skill level of n(n-1)/2 + 1.
