I have the Platinum Edition of Neverwinter Nights 2, but I cannot install Mask of the Betrayer. An error code 5001 shows up telling me to shut down all other applications, but nothing else is open on my laptop. So far, I only have the first disc installed. I haven't installed any patches. I'm using a Dell Inspiron 15 (3000 Series) with Windows 10. What do I need to do?

I resolved by media install issues with Windows 8 by grabbing a copy of the downloadable GoG release. I can't vouch for that approach with Win10; it seems to work fine for some folks on Win10, and fail miserably for others.
