In my recent play-trough I faced Barl Breakbones with Amulet of Fortitude in hand. Since his first check is either Fortitude 12 or Combat 17 I decided to use Amulet to quickly and easily pass that check while preserving resources for his second check... only to get pleasantly surprised when, following the random discard and hand reset the game skipped to win animation, victory screen and rewards without even asking for a second check!

I think they fixed it and then re-bugged it at some point (probably with AD4 release!) because I could have sworn that when I solo with Merisiel in late August/early September it worked like it should...
