Started quest mode, got a ton of cards?

So I unlocked quest mode and tried it.

 

I completed one scenario, went to the difficulty selection screen again and then closed the game.

 

A few hours later started the game and went to customize my decks

 

It seems that now I had a lot of new cards that I didn't loot/got via reward.

this includes weapons, spells, armors etc.

those card just appeared out of nowhere

 

is this normal?

Yes, you get to build your decks with any basic cards in the game. So you can swap out the default potions for more useful items and things like that. I assume you can do that before you reach level 2, but I do not know the specifics. Same with Story mode, when you start you can change your deck with any basic cards before starting AD1.

I remember starting story mode and having no cards besides my initial deck with a few cards for each character to choose from
