PFID shows as "User not logged in yet" post 1.0.3.5 reinstall to fix lockup on loading issue

When I open the App I get a pop-up that says "logged in", but I don't get a pop-up that says "signed in as <username>". At the top of the menu screen it shows my network is connected and it shows that I am "logged in to GooglePlayGames". However, when I go to Settings my PFID is displayed as "User not logged in yet". I suspect that I am missing content as a result (I have posted separate threads/replies regarding missing Treasure).

 

Any ideas as to how to get signed in properly (the correct user is logged in to Google Play outside PACG

Just out of curiosity, did clearing the cache data from the game and google apps help with this issue? And launching the game directly from Play Games doesn't work?

Clearing the game cache may have fixed it - my PFID is displayed when launching from Google Play, having cleared the cache. But only the first time after clearing the cache. When you say clear the cache from the Google Apps, which ones do you mean?
