Evangelist cannot recharge to add 1d4 to your check if divine is an option

IF divine is an option on the check, then the evangelist forces the check to divine when I play, even if I want to add 1d4 to another check. Changing it back to another type of Check cancels the evangelist.

 

It comes up on blessings where you might rather add 1d4 versus 1d6 and Converts to divine.
