I was playing in Story mode - Heroic.  I had Valeros fight a henchman - rolled two 1's!! :( and failed the check - I think it was the barrier henchman.  Then, I noticed he was no longer at the location he was just at - he appeared at a random closed location and I had to end my turn.  I had to move him back the next turn to get back to where he was.

In another scenario in Story mode - Legendary.  I had Merisiel take on the Villain ( I can't remember which one ).  Merisiel also failed a combat check and suddenly appeared at a closed location - 2 moves away from where she just was.

Is this a bug or am I missing something?  I try and not fail checks against henchman and villains so failing doesn't happen often :)

I know the B Monster "Spectre" will move you to a random location if undefeated (which includes if you roll high enough, but your check doesn't have the Magic trait).  The move is RATHER abrupt and scary to see.

I don't recall any henchies or Villains that cause this.  It'd help if you could remember specifically what scenario you were playing, any wildcard rules, at which location the fight took place, and which specific Henchman/Villain you fought.

"I need a lie-down" is the new "I'll be in my bunk..."

Erylium, the villain in the Trouble in Sandpoint scenario, has the ability to move you to a random location if you fail to defeat her and then fail a Wisdom/Divine check.

  • Yeah, wish I paid more attention to what villain and scenario.  I don't remember if I had a monster summoned - It might likely have been that a monster (spectre) was summoned before or after the henchman/villain fight, and that caused the moved.  That would make sense.

Erylium, the villain in the Trouble in Sandpoint scenario, has the ability to move you to a random location if you fail to defeat her and then fail a Wisdom/Divine check.

Good catch!  "If undefeated, succeed at a Wisdom or Divine 8 check or move to a random other location."
