Using a Galaxy S5.  It seems I cannot create a party at the part creation screen.  I can cycle through characters and see details, but I cannot drag any characters into the party, or otherwise select them into the party,

Same here.  Please advise!

Good news, I got it to work (I also have a Galaxy S5).  It was VERY finicky.  I very deliberately placed my finger in the exact middle of each character, counted to 3, then slowly slid them down to the party slots.  It was surprisingly difficult, but it did work.

Hope this helps!

Other phone users have encountered the same issues. I supose that the phone makers own user interface caused these issues. Hard to fix because allmost every phone maker use their custom ui....

Dragging up first, THEN down helped me get around this.

"I need a lie-down" is the new "I'll be in my bunk..."

Please note that phones are not supported at this time. They will be at a later date. As you can see the UI for smaller screens needs some work!

With a little care, I'm getting around on my HTC One M9 just fine.

"I need a lie-down" is the new "I'll be in my bunk..."

Have any of you had any issues on a TABLET with dragging a character down to the party bar?

I have found on both phone (SG5) and Gnote tablet just touching anywhere on the screen where there is no "selectable" target then swiping my finger (without breaking initial touch contact) to a character pog it will pick up char without fail.
