I sided with Doemenels against Verzano and when the fight started they were friendly (e.g. Durance's Blessing affected them normally).

 

Then at some point one of them was grazed by Aloth's Blast and they all turned hostile:

Blast description says "Foe AoE" so I assume this is a bug.
