Hi! I'm new to the forum (well, not at all, i've been reading here before, but i've just created this account! :D)

I've started playing Pillars of Eternity for 3 or 4 months, but i just have 60 hours played, and 10 games created more or less, sometimes because the game was too hard because i've never played with Infinity Engine games and i couldn't do anything even in Easy, sometimes because the game was too easy after playing a lot in Easy mode.

Now, after nearly completing the game in Easy and Normal (wow, i couldn't even end the game becasue the fights were too easy for me xD) i want to start a game in Hard or PotD... and i've chosen to play PotD.

After several hours planning which team i was going to play, i've planned the following teams (RED Team 1, GREEN T 2)

Main : Hearth orlan, Barbarian, Deadfire Archipelago, Aristocrat (i've chosen backgrounds for roleplay). Damage role.

          Stats - MIG 16, CON 10, DEX 17, PER 16, INT 10 and RES 9.

Weapon - Dual wield, probably one of them a Hatchet for extra DR.

Companion 1 : Wild orlan, Fighter, Ixamitl Plains, Drifter. Tank role.

          Stats - MIG 10, CON 15, DEX 9, PER 20, INT 4, RES 20.

          Hatchet and a shield.

Comp 2 : Moon Godlike (i chose this race for roleplay), Priest (Wael, roleplay another time xD), Old Vailia, Aristocrat. Healing and Buffing role.

          Stats - MIG 14, CON 11, DEX 13, PER 10, INT 20, RES 10.

          Arquebus.

Comp 3 : Wood Elf, Cipher, The living lands, Scientist. Damage.

          Stats - MIG 19, CON 6, DEX 19, PER 6, INT 18, RES 10.

          Blunderbluss.

Comp 4 : Death Godlike, Wizard, The living lands, Drifter. CC and damage.

         Stats - MIG 17, CON 12, DEX 15, PER 6, INT 18, RES 10.

         Wand.

Comp 5 : Wild orlan, Chanter/Paladin, Ixamitl, Drifter/Aristocrat. Tank and support.

         Stats - MIG 10/6, CON 10/18, DEX 7/6, PER 20/18, INT 12, RES 20/18

         Hatchet and a shield.

Main : Hearth orlan, Barbarian, Deadfire Archipelago, Aristocrat. Damage.

          MIG 16, CON 10, DEX 17, PER 16, INT 10 and RES 9.

          Dual wield.

Companion 1 : Wild orlan, Fighter, Ixamitl Plains, Drifter. Tank.

          MIG 10, CON 15, DEX 9, PER 20, INT 4, RES 20.

          Hatchet and shield.

Comp 2 : Moon Godlike, Priest, Old Vailia, Aristocrat. Healing and buffing.

          MIG 14, CON 11, DEX 13, PER 10, INT 20, RES 10.

          Arquebus.

Comp 3 : Wood Elf, Cipher, The living lands, Scientist. CC and damage.

          MIG 19, CON 6, DEX 19, PER 6, INT 18, RES 10.

          Blunderbluss.

Comp 4 : Death Godlike, Wizard, The living lands, Drifter. CC and damage.

         MIG 17, CON 12, DEX 15, PER 6, INT 18, RES 10.

         Wand.

Comp 5 : Coastal Aumaua, Druid, Living Lands, Hunter. CC and damage.

         MIG 21, CON 8, DEX 12, PER 8, INT 18, RES 12.

         I don't know.

It only changes the Comp 5, the comp 5 from the Red team is a support off-tank. I don't know if one fighter full tank is enough for hold all the enemies in PotD, so i added one off-tank. I've been thinking of adding a Offtank priest, i read that they're good with it, i would delete the Moon Godlike Priest and add another Damage dealer, like a Ranged Rogue, but i don't how do they work or how should i build them.

The green team is made for if the fighter is enough to hold everyone forever, the comp 5 is another Damage Dealer (that's what i think Druids are, i've never played anyone), but i think that then i would lack on physical damage (i only depend on the Barbarian for this), and magical resistant enemies would be a pain. I think that a rogue or a ranger would be good, or maybe another barbarian.

What team is better for Path of the Damned? Are both useless (i think that you'll say that both are quite useless)? Any suggestions?

Remember that this is my first post and that i'm not a professional in Pillars of Eternity, just a casual player that enjoys challenges. :D hugs.

Hard to answer your question correctly cause not sure if I understand it right.

If your main question is, hwether a fighter can tank on his own, then the answer is:

With a full party to back him up, if you take the right talents and items, yes a fighter can easily tank on his own.

Though if I try to interpret your post a little further, I can't help to ask if you really wanted to know if it's better to have an offtank and I can assure you it is.

As to your other question about magical and physical damage:

There is NO magical resistant enemies in this game, the way resistances work only immunities fully protect an enemy from something and those are only centered on a damage type like pierce or cold and not generally on magic or physical.

Yes, i wanted to know if one tank would be enough to hold everyone, meanwhile the others do the rest. Whatever, i will add an off-tank Chanter. Thanks. :')
