the cipher spell "mental binding" needs two to-hit-rolls to hit instead of just one.

 

first one vs will to hit and then one more vs will to apply the paralyze effect.

 

example:

 

X activates mental binding.

X (mental binding) hits phantom.                    (Acc:59 - Will:73 = -29   Roll:85 -26 = 59 (Hit).)

... but misses with additional effect.                (Acc:59 - Will:73 = -29   Roll:11 -26 = -15 (Miss).)

 

 

the result is no effect at all.

and yes there was only one monster.

Thanks for pointing this out. The first hit is actually a bug, there should only be the paralyzing hit and the aoe hit if there are enemies to hit. I wrote up a bug and added it to our database.
