Game is fine until the very first sequence for the Gilded Vale loads (where caravan is standing around campfire). When the first NPC in this sequence takes a step, game crashes to desktop w/ no error.

  • Fresh install of PoE w/ no mods
  • Graphics drivers up to date
  • Windows 7 64-bit w/ 16 gigs of ram

Please advise,

Hello khalysto,

Welcome to the forums and thanks for joining us! Sounds like it might be a bad install. Try verifying your game cache in steam or gog galaxy and see if that fixes it. If you are in steam, right click Pillars of Eternity > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of game cache.

If you are in GOG Galaxy, just verify/repair.

Let me know if that works.

I've done this as well as removed and reinstalled the game - no dice.

I'm amazed there aren't many posts about this on the forums. The issue occurs like clockwork.

Hello khalysto,

That most likely due to it being related to your system and/or your drivers. Every system handles the game differently, so not everyone will experience the same issues. Could you please upload an output log and a dxdiag file so I can take a look? You can find those files in the link in my signature.

Thanks!

Hello khalysto,

After looking at your logs, I notice that you have EVGA Precision X installed. Please disable that application as it is the reason why your game is crashing.

Thank you for your support!

Disabling this program resolved my issue. Thanks!
