Greetings Folks! If this post rambles its because I have a few things I wanted to ask and I am trying to consolidate it all in one thread.

I am really having a good time this time. I have never really finished the game and got to Defiance bay and paused as i knew I would restart after the patches. Which i have done so.

I did 2 story job and when I went to the Don Domel I refused him. He got uppity and was aggro. At that point I was pre positioned to do exactly what followed. I slaughtered them. I slaughtered ALL of THEM included all the folks and NPC's upstairs. I got two 'mission' failed messages while fighting. I had ZERO intention of doing any of this **** missions so there ya go. I am not HATED with the domel faction but whatever.

First question: Will this gate me on the main line story or prevent other missions not directly related to the domels?

Next up are some dumb questions about party and what talents to take.

My party recently dinged to 6th. Its as follows:

Me (Pally) Darcozi (just dinged 6th) I am main tank and have Shatterstar and hold the line for the extra engagements. I enchanted it with shock. I dropped the fine plate for that coat you get from the Knights forge guy the one with Cold DR and resistance to knockdowns. It was the same DR as fine plate. I have Flames of devotion and for my 6th perk, I don't know what to grab. I was leaning to the flame shield or more damage with the flaming weapon. I don't have the option to get the accuracy one but I will look to see if i can. Any ideas? I wanted a bit of dmg as it makes holding engagements better. My options also included greater lay on hands which I also was thinking was good.  Oh my stats are mediocre but my resolve is 19, 14 str, 14 con, 12 int. 10 dex, 12 perception.

Next is Eder: He also dinged to 6th and is the 2nd tank with hold the line instead of defender.  He can get 'extra knockdown' or I was thinking the offensive thingy which sacrifices weapons speed for some DR on all weapons, however you all may have better ideas. Both Eder and Pally are tanks but I wanted both to be able to dmg the mobs to hold on mobs. I intended Eder to use Ravenwing from the Sanitarium but have not ventured into it yet. If you have any good ideas, I will not be using anything else with him except maybe a two-hander but for the most part both him and my pally are sword n board for the extra deflection. Eder is in exceptional plate from the Knights forge guy. He is also using the door shield which I was going to enchant up.

Durance: Standard issue. I was going to give him at 6th the perk which augments his buff to also add accuracy to everyone in touches. Feel free to offer advice.

Aloth: I picked the book slam and added a 3rd lvl spell. I am wondering if I would get more mileage out of an extra 1rst or 2nd level spell instead...??

That leaves the last two which have not level yet. The Rogue and Cypher. Ill come back here when they do unless you have ideas.

Rogue is both ranged for an alpha strike using arbalest and will melee. Cypher also using arbalest and I took the extra focus since this lets me get some of the better abilities off right at the start rather than having to build it. This is REALLY helpful btw.

Sorry for such a long post.

Again I am having fun which is all that counts...

You can still pass through the crit path even if you Kill Every Faction Leader.

It won't prevent other quests, just the quests that came from the Domels cause the npc is dead, there's nothing to trigger it any more. Most of their stuff is thematically and item wise locked to rogues, and I wasn't a rogue, so to me it wasn't much of a loss.

As for talents, I would pick greater lay on hands with a paladin with that stat build. If you had 3-5 higher points in perception, upgraded flames of devotion would do a pretty good job of applying more damage. One of the easier ways to stop people from breaking engagement is to have a pike user around and then have them aggro the mobs breaking off. The mobs will then skid to stop.

The fighter will probably benefit more from the DR bypass talents, since you won't be hitting much with that door shield accuracy malus.

The wizard's third level spells are very good, including firewall and alacrity. If you want more first and second level spells... go find the rings for them.

For the cipher, you should be able to head to Dyrford and get the quest to get the unique blunderbuss. Which is better for gaining focus for the cipher, especially if the cipher has -dr bypass or group buffs to his accuracy/attack/reload speed.

Do your pally and Eder both have Weapon and Shield Style yet? You didn't specifically mention it, but needless to say, it's a must-have for anyone who's going to be using a shield most or all of the time.

Inspiring Radiance is indeed a great one to get on Durance. Even at level 6, you have enough other healing spells that it'll be worth casting Divine Radiance toward the beginning of combat not for the healing, but simply for the accuracy bonus (that happens to stack with other accuracy bonuses, which is unusual since most similar effects of the same source type suppress each other). The only time you might delay casting Holy Radiance is if you are waiting for vessels to get in range. Other talents I find highly useful for Durance are Interdiction, Painful Interdiction, and Empowered Interdiction. Priests have enough good class talents that you hardly have to choose any non-class ones, but you may eventually want Scion of Flame for example.

For Aloth, IMHO there are better choices than the additional spell slots. I guess they're ok if you want to rest less often before those spell ranks become Per Encounter, but one more cast still won't be night-and-day. Remember that you were curious about trying Minor Blights. If you haven't tried it yet, I would at least try it and see how you like it. The talents you'll want for that are Blast, Penetrating Blast, Weapon Focus: Adventurer (equip a wand, and Minor Blights are also a wand), Marksman, and Dangerous Implements. I'd do Dangerous Implements last, since by that time, the health loss won't be too severe. The really cool thing is that at level 13, both Deleterious Alacrity of Motion and Minor Blights become Per Encounter, so you cast them in that order in every fight and do great consistent AoE auto attack damage. You could also cast Merciless Gaze and Eldritch Aim in-between Alacrity and Minor Blights, and for the super tough fights you could finish off the buff sequence with Citzal's Martial Power :). Just a thought to see how you like it, but that would be a Minor Blights wizard in a nutshell.

There is one quest in Dyrford Village that's related to the Doemenels that you might not expect (Cat and Mouse), but it definitely doesn't affect the crit path.

About those rogue items, some of them are purchasable from a merchant (for the Doemenels, it's the woman in the back on the second floor, after you do her side quest). It's possible to do that and the side quests from the other factions to gain access to their respective merchants, and buy the items you want before you (optionally) kill them. Of course, play how you want. If you prefer to RP that you want nothing to do with the Doemenels including doing even a little dirty work or buying some dirty goods, feel free to RP that way :D.
