Cutlock Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 (edited) Now I don't know if many of you know of this game, but Mesozoica is an upcoming grand tycoon simulation that was originally designed as a spiritual successor to Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis. Since that conception, the game currently has over forty dinosaurs announced, modeled and animated and several more all finished that have yet to be unveiled. Plus, there are many, many more that are planned. The dinosaurs aren't just land dinosaurs, but also aquatic and arial. There aren't just dinosaurs, but also creatures from the paleozoic, cenozoic and phanerozoic (our age) geologic periods. Several Youtubers, including BestInSlot and the Gaming Beaver, have put their faith into this project. Primarily because we plan on expanding past typical tycoon barriers. We plan on allowing the player to not only operate in their normal God mode, but also play as a visitor. While the play as visitor feature has been oft explored, one that has not is play as the dinosaur. Imagine, dozens upon dozens of playable dinosaurs. There also fans who ask for more realistic dinosaurs while also fans who ask for more nuanced Hollywood looks. This project gives both. Whatever you want, you get to play with. Be it the original perception of Spinosaurous, as imagined by Professor Stromer, or Ibrahim's new more accurate rendition. There is also an amazing quest system featured. There are two different aspects to this. One revolving around the immense backstory created for the game under which you will be able to operate, and the other more focused on the dinosaurs. However, if you do not want to play with the quests or have the burden of stories, you do not have to. You can play in a free mode where there are no restrictions whatsoever. The soundtrack is created by the award winning Nick Rivera (Who I believe has contributed or wrote a piece that won an Emmy Award) and Ryan Stunkel, who has gone to exotic sanctuaries and recorded audio from lions and such for the dinosaurs. The project gained 30% of funding within the first forty-eight hours and is currently 33% funded. While I will admit the funding has slowed down since yesterday, it is still making great pace. I'm sure whatever amount you can contribute would be seen as nicely, especially given the rewards are particularly enticing.
