Problem with Steam

Featured Replies

I purchased Pillars of Eternity from Obsidian and very much enjoyed the game.  I am having problems with Steam though and I was wondering if you could help me.  I cannot connect my steam tab on my laptop to the internet so I can download new games.  I purchased Baldur's Gate from Steam and cannot get to it.  In the process of troubleshooting, I uninstalled Steam which uninstalled Pillars of Eternity. Can you please help me to get it back?

Thankyou very much,

Pat Diehl

Hi there! Have you tried re-installing Steam? Once Steam is installed and you are logged into your account, you can access Pillars of Eternity from your library. If it wasn't connecting to the Internet, it could have been a problem server side with Steam. You can always check with Steam Support (https://support.steampowered.com) if you have continued issues with connecting.

If you've only got PoE on Steam, you need to have Steam installed to play it. If you have issues with connecting to Steam or running Steam, you should contact Steam support.

There's no way around that, really.

That said, when you do re-install Steam and re-install Pillars of Eternity, unless I'm mistaken, your saves (and settings?) should still be there, because they are kept outside of the Steam installation path(s). So there's that.
