A Massacre In Defiance

Recommended Posts

Thought I'd give an RP Story Experience. Before you judge, yes I Role-play all of my characters and create their own stories. Even if it doesn't make "sense" to play the game a certain way like killing innocents or companions I still like to do what feels natural for my character. This was an instance in which I felt I had no use for my companions anymore. They served their purpose to get me to Defiance Bay. Only they knew I was The Watcher.

The morning was fresh and smelled of dew on the summer grass as the party gathered up their equipment. Alessa, a human cipher was the leader of the band. She was a good 6 feet tall, 135 lbs not including her kit. Eyes as blue as the ocean and hair as white as silk. She took great pride in being the lone survivor of her templar sect hailing as a Dark Templar. Skilled in draining the life force of others and calling upon dark magic to enhance her abilities in combat. She had acquired some...companions during the journey leading her to Defiance Bay. Friends. The word was lost on her and she had neither the time nor need for emotions and attachments to people. A healer by the name of Dorian, a wizard named Aloth, and a fighter named Eder accompanied her this morning.

As they marched out of the treeline they saw the glimmering white cobblestone that made up the bridge leading to the bay. Shimmering like salt from the great mines of Sargoth, the beautiful architecture hinted at what was to come. Cautiously they approached the bridge. It seemed as if everyone and everything in this country they had been traveling in wanted to kill them. Wary of both creature and being alike they slowly made their way across the bridge.

Something was wrong thought Alessa. Her mind clouded her judgment. It had been awhile since she had been able to think straight. Suddenly, the two guards at the gate were no longer guards...rather....they were apparitions of those who had attacked her temple 10 years ago.

She turned around to her companions. "This is where the journey ends I'm afraid" she snarled. Confused and a little worried Eder tried to reason with her. "Alessia? Are you alrigh-". Before he could finish his sentence she had drawn her longsword and in one swift motion sliced through his leather armor from stomach to chin. Blood splattered across the cobblestone, tainting it with its impurity. Commoners and Peasants ran screaming from the shock of what had just transpired. Dorian was kneeling next to Eder trying frantically to use his power to help the soldier as he bled out on the cobblestone. Aloth tried to cast off a spell but could not find his wand to do so. Alessa had taken it from his pack the night before when they camped in the treeline. Specks of blood decorated her face as she grinned. She thrust her sword through his gut, twisting it before pulling it out for good measure. Aloth lay on the ground looking at Eder sharing the same fate. Wondering why he was so trustful of someone he just met at the Gilded Vale. He knew better than to trust a human. His mother....well....at least he would see her now.

Dorian tried to plead with Alessa but it would not work. She had other plans in mind and to be The Watcher and vanquish evil was not her destiny. It may have been her destiny for others...but she knew she could use her power to resurrect her templar sect again. Without a thought she drained the life force out of Dorian. Watching him age quickly before decaying into what resembled a corpse, long dead.

She turned around to see the two guards rushing towards her. Only they weren't guards to her. They were the men who killed her brothers and sisters. She started to laugh maniacally. Fire burned in her eyes....Welcome to the beginning of the end she thought. It's time to expand Caed Nua...

Hope you enjoyed it. What ensued afterwards was a slaughter of guards, commoners, protestors and just about everyone else I could find in the zone. Pretty sure my play through is screwed but it made for an interesting choice lol. Hope you enjoyed the read.
