My character is a Cipher and ever since i got a blunderbuss I havent been able to gather focus, at all. The focus didnt grow with each bullet shot, it didnt grow even shot by shot.  Tried draining it from focus but didnt change, tried items with focus modifiers and still nothing. Any solution for this?

Stupid question but probably needs to be asked: blunderbuss attacks are actually hitting for damage?

Focus gain was bugged in earlier versions if you equipped items that affected it. What version are you running?

They changed the focus mechanics from Draining Whip to be +33% focus generation instead of +2 focus / shot, so blunderbuss is not that great anymore.

 

Blunderbus, which splits the shots into 6 separate small fragments will be dealing little to no damage/shot. That means you'll be getting really low amount of focus unless your target is wearing no armour. This is because you're getting 10% (without draining whip) of your damage back in focus and if you're doing less than 10 damage/shot you're not going to see major progress.

My cypher uses an ordinary pistol and when she hits, focus rises considerably. Enough to last for most encounters.
