April 30, 201510 yr I know I can buy it via Steam which I did but no matter what I try it still shows it missing the EXE file. I treid deleting appcache, verified the files, uninstalled, and reinstalled, started Steam as admin, rebooted computer etc. I tried everything and to no avail. I want to play game really bad and was wondering if I purchased it again from here can I add to Steam library? Thanks...
April 30, 201510 yr As a generic suggestion: Look into the antivirus quarantine, see if any game file was blocked. Delete the content of Steam "downloading" folder. run Steam as administrator. "verify integrity of the cache" again. If this doesn't help, some clue could be in the Event Viewer (win+R eventvwr). I've come to burn your kingdom down

Ok I wet into Mcafee and viewed quarantined items and Pillar of Eternity EXE is on the list. Do i just click on the file and click restore? If so then what do i do? Thanks you so much I think this may be the problem.

I don't use McAfee, but if it's like my antivirus: -restore the file -add pillars of eternity to your antivirus exceptions After that run Steam as administrator and verify the game files.
