No, it's onky related to your mechanics skill when in stealth mode. No influence of perception!

Thanks.  I was inching along, hoping that would effect detection.

By the way, is there a range function?  Does detection become more likely the closer you get, or is there just one 'roll' at

a pre-set distance?

So far as I can tell, you need have at least "trap level -1" to be able to detect traps (i.e. Mechanics 6 to see a Level 7 trap).

So far I've seen the higher your mechanics vs the level of the trap the farther away you'll spot it.
