In the skean temple under dyrwood is this chest.

I detected the trap, but when I put my mouse over it, the "loot" icon stays and no "disarm trap icon" is shown.

When I click, a disarm animation is shown and the game tells me my skill is not high enough.

I had to take the damage to get items.

My mechanics skill is 8.

 

I was able to disarm another trap in this dungeon without problems.

 

gog version 1.04, windows 7 64 bit

If I recall correctly, Mechanics needs to be 9 or better to disarm that trap. That was 1.03 though.

The problem is not the fact, that I cannot disarm it.

I have the problem, that the hand (= loot container) icon is shown when I put my mouse there.

The disarm trap icon should be shown when I do it.

 

If you are correct with your numbers, my char and the chest worked correctly, only the icon was wrong.
