Please help!

 

The game is crashing after the kickstarter logo.

 

I am attaching the error files for clues.

 

I don't think is because of the font issue, I don't have that font on my fonts folder.

 

Please help!

After checking other crashes logs from other users, I can see that most of them have a problem with mono.dll. Instead, my error is due to:

 

KERNELBASE.dll caused a Breakpoint (0x80000003)

  in module KERNELBASE.dll at 0023:77138ef2.

I think I found something.

 

I am playing the game with custom portraits. The problem is that I started the game with default ones and later on I switch to custom ones.

 

What I did is:

 

1. I backed up the default portraits I was using.

2. I overwrite the default ones with the custom ones.

 

These are the files I am overwriting:

male_elf_d_lg.png

male_elf_d_sm.png

male_human_01_lg.png

male_human_01_sm.png

male_human_n_lg.png

male_human_n_sm.png

 

If I recover the backup copies of those files I am able to run the game.

 

However, this is not what I want. What I want is to be able to play the game with the overwritten portraits as I was able to do (for more than 40 hours of gameplay) until this morning (CET time).

Ok, something is going really wrong. I found something more.

 

As I said before, I did a backup of the original portraits I intend to overwrite.

 

These are the backed up files I still have in my portrait folder:

male_human_01_bkp_lg.png

male_human_01_bkp_sm.png

male_human_bkp_n_lg.png

male_human_bkp_n_sm.png

 

Here is the situation:

1. If I do nothing (keep those files plus the original ones after a re-install) I can run the game and load my saved games.

2. If I delete the backup files and play with the original portraits only, the game crashes after the kickstarter image.

3. If I keep the the backup files but I overwrite the original portraits with the customized version (same name, different image), the game crashes after the kickstarter image.

4. If I delete the backip files plus I overwrite the original portraits with the customized version, the game crashes after the kickstarter image.

 

Obsidian, please, could you look into that.

 

I really want to play with my custom portraits as I did before for more than 40 hours.

New behaviour found.

 

I discover that if I first empty the male portrait folder and I run the game, I can play it (of course with 2 red question marks as portraits).

 

However, if just after loading the game with the empty folder, I close it and I paste there only the customized portraits and then I run the game. Only the first time I run it, I can play it with my custom portraits.

 

If I close the game and I try to load it again, it crashes.

 

So, the workaround for me is:

 

1. Empty the male portrait folder.

2. Run the game.

3. Close the game.

4. Paste my custom portraits on the male portrait folder.

5. Run the game.

6. DON'T CLOSE THE GAME OR I GET A CRASH WHEN I THEN RUN IT AGAIN

 

Although I've managed to play, a fix will be very much appreciated.
