This is a really minor thing. I right clicked on a scroll to look at the description and somehow moved the pop up window all the way to the bottom of the screen, so only the very top of it was showing. I was unable to grab it to move it back into the center of the screen, because grabbing doesn't register outside of the maroon decorative border (which was off screen in this case). Reloading did not fix...right clicking on anything in the inventory screen put the description off screen again. Quitting the game to the main menu and reloading did fix the issue.
