It seems to me that this is a bug or a fail in design because one of the main features of the rogue are the traps, if he can't kite the enemy through a lot of traps... I don't know, yes is a big advancement against a big enemy and transform a hard battle like the one against the draco in the lvl5 in the stronghold in a easy battle but is another way to play or you can limit the number of traps in an area.

Why was your idea to limit this? Was it hard to implement?

Obviously because of abuse. Have you played a bounty hunter or just a normal thief in BG2? It's incredibly easy to defeat any opponent on any difficulty even with mods.

Some traps can still be strong. I think they could allow one normal trap + priest's glyph to work together though. Because those two are different "sources" of traps.

But why do you loose you traps then? You can place several traps after each other, the previous one just get removed. Why not just notify that you cannot place more traps then?

Another thing is that set traps sometimes get lost when you load a game.

That's a good point then, definitely a bug. You shouldn't lose traps that you place anew. Either it should just replace the old one with the new one or it should do as you said, show a message.
