When I create a wild orlan character, head and hair options are grayed out. Facial hair is available, but it's probably not working properly, because it shows the beard on top of the default one not instead of it. Also I don't have an option to change hair color. 

 

Is it supposed to be this way?

Yes, a bit like godlikes, wild orlans are always incredibly hairy (but capable of constantly shaving or grooming their beard, it seems).
