Cannot change language on Steam

I have a Steam copy of the game. By default, the game runs in German; I want to play it in English. However, if I change the language to English (via Library > Properties > Language), the game still runs in German. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

I had the same problem, and so I searched the registry for configuration data.

 

Under the path "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Obsidian Entertainment\Pillars of Eternity" there is a key "LanguageName_h2027703280".

 

I changed the value from "german" to "english" and the game now runs completly in English.

    Configure browser push notifications
