can anyone help me figure out the correct way to activate pillars of eternity on steam. i have never used steam before and the instructions provided do not match up to how the steam system works.

I can not find "activate the product" under the games menu.

From the Steam client window (not from the Steam website), click the Games category name in the very top menu text drop-down list, pick "Activate Product on Steam," a small popup box will open and follow the prompts.
