Greetings,

im new to this community, and new to the PoE.

Just bought this game.... and im wondering why i didnt mention this game earlier.

im a great fan of NWN, BG, etc. so this is a must have !

also, im in to Skyrim modding, so my first step was: checking out the install-dir of PoE.

i found the portraits and prefered the blonde girl for my blonde medium.

but oh damn, this portrait is reserved for Calisca.

so i copied and renamed the files to PC-female and deleted it in companion.

but in game, Calisca still has the original portrait !?

now my question:

does anybody knows, how i can change those portrait of followers, npcs and maybe player characters afterwards ?

what did i wrong, that the change of Calisca didnt take place ?

Embedding new character-portraits is quite easy:
just put the .png-files in the according folder. thanks obsidian !

thanks all

I have tried this and it doesn't work. Renamed the portrait png files to the same filename as Calisca's portraits and removed the originals and it doesn't change her portraits in game.

Is it actually possible or am I doing it wrong?

Thank you

  • 5 weeks later...

I have the exact same problem. I changed all pngs in the data/art/gui/portraits/companion

to custom portraits I made.

In the game everyone is changed except Calisca and Heodan.

How can I overwrite these portraits in the game.

It would be awesome if some one could tell me.

Don't worry overmuch about Calisca and Heodan...

...they won't be around for very long.

The next patch (1.05, due for May release) should include the option to change your character's portrait and voice set (see here for more details).

Thanks AstralWanderer, I know ;)

I just wondered where these portraits are stored. I found out, also the portrait_thaos_masked_lg.png isnt changed in the game, yet all companions except Calisca and Heodan are changed in the game if you modifiy the png files.

Thus, the images for the unchanged portraits must be stored elsewhere. But I havent found any readable data or folders.
