I'm getting something similar - I did not cast the staff, but cannot use nor equip my grimoire, and the first time I ran into it was in the temple.  Sometimes when I try it reports - "cannot equip while spellcasting is disabled".  Can't find a note online regarding this - in case it was a in-game affliction of some sort.

I have the same problem.  Is this still being fixed if I send my save file ?

There's a patch coming this week that will apparently fix games affected by this bug.

As a side-question for whomever is checking this thread as often as I am, might I inquire as to why my forum account is not showing the Kickstarter icon?

 

I'm a backer, and I'm registered for one of the Kickstarter reward tiers... what am I not doing, to get this Kickstarter badge thingy?
