DarthDeven Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Disney has completely ruined the star wars continuity by considering it non-canonall these stories for the past 30 years don't exist anymore just for them to be clear to do a new story as they pleasei preferred 100 more years of dictatorship from George Lucas than one more year with disney after what it has donei wasn't too happy about the canon,i even hated it,but this is much worse.now they'll start with that alternate universes bull****: Luke Skywalker (Earth 2000),Darth Vader (Earth 1230) that i hate marvel for that.and make cross overs with ducks and mouses.the rakatan infinite empire,Darth Bane,Darth Revan and Darth Malak,Kotor and Kotor 2,Sw Battlefront 1&2,SW Republic Commando30 years of hard work gone in a decisionthe only positive thing is that TOR is no longer canon so revan has no longer his horrid fate in TOR,but even kotor is no longer canon and that's not what it should have been donewhat do you think guys?did Disney ****ed it up really hard or you were expecting better from them?please let me know every opinion about this
Bryy Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 all these stories for the past 30 years don't exist anymor Yeah they do. Unless Bob Iger came to your house and burned all your books.
DarthDeven Posted August 17, 2014 Author Posted August 17, 2014 all these stories for the past 30 years don't exist anymore Yeah they do. Unless Bob Iger came to your house and burned all your books. what i essentially meant that the story that the writer wrote.it's gone,it's like it never existed,it's like someone taking a history book and removing all the previous 30 years events as they never happened
Leferd Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Good riddance. Continuity police are worst type of fanboi. 1 "Things are funny...are comedic, because they mix the real with the absurd." - Buzz Aldrin."P-O-T-A-T-O-E" - Dan Quayle
Marky Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 (edited) I don't care what Disney, or even Lucas says about canon. Because no matter what. kotor 1 and 2 will always be canon to me. At worst, this decision just means that we're likely to not get any sequels that we might have hoped for. At best, they might re-establish some of the best stuff and make great improvements to the franchise. Heck kotor 3 could happen since Tne Old Republic is no longer cannon either. Leferd Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Yep. Good stories are good stories and bad stories are bad stories. Doesn't matter if it's canon or not. 1 "Things are funny...are comedic, because they mix the real with the absurd." - Buzz Aldrin."P-O-T-A-T-O-E" - Dan Quayle
Bryy Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 it's like someone taking a history book and removing all the previous 30 years events as they never happened No it most certantly is not. It's friggin' fiction, dude. 1
DarthDeven Posted August 18, 2014 Author Posted August 18, 2014 (edited) in this case yes,it wouldn't be much of a problem if it was already alternate universe material, but it wasn't,it was a part of Star Wars history.in the star wars universe.Star Wars it's fiction of a fictional universe, but the EU is still part of it, and no less important, that's what i meantthe only thing it now remains is our memories of the games\novelsnothing will delete my hours of Kotor and Kotor 2.but it's still a unwelcome change when i think that their crappy casual mobile freemium games and DLC ridden games by EA will be the future of Star Wars.it saddens me.star wars is a good license, and deserves much better than thati fear of the (earth 1111) implementation in Star Wars. Marky Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Yeah I'm not looking forward to the next star wars games to come out. I wish Lucasarts were still around. i fear of the (earth 1111) implementation in Star Wars. What's this earth thing you're talking about?
Bryy Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 and no less important, that's what i meant the only thing it now remains is our memories of the games\novels 1) Yes it is. Because it's not real. 2) Memories and the fact that you can still reread them and replay them. Look. I'm a Lit Major. I get it. But you are taking it way, way, way too seriously.

I wish Lucasarts were still around. i fear of the (earth 1111) implementation in Star Wars. What's this earth thing you're talking about? in the marvel comics, there are alternate realities where events have gone different from the 'real' earth like What if Spider-man joined the fantastic four? What if Spider-man The Other? all these comics are set in alternate Earth\s and given a random number Earth 70134 or Earth-0 and no less important, that's what i meant the only thing it now remains is our memories of the games\novels 1) Yes it is. Because it's not real. 2) Memories and the fact that you can still reread them and replay them. Look. I'm a Lit Major. I get it. But you are taking it way, way, way too seriously. i got that, but i'm not taking too seriously or i'll be like 'Raaar DISNEYZ MUST DIEEZZ' it's sad to have come to this it's different opinion, dude, you have yours,i have mine,
