I was having the same issue.  I spent literally over an hour doing that stupid thing.  Here is the issue and the solve:  You are using W A S D for up down left right.  You need to actually use the actual up down left right arrows over on your numpad.  I feel your pain and your anger at this stupid weird thing, but at least you dont have to wait for a patch to keep playing.  Good luck

Alright i figured it out, pretty simple yet so confusing. If any of the rest of you are having this issue here ya go......... use the freakin arrow keys on your keyboard. Right over my head for 2 hours

I switched to the arrow keys on my keyboard and got it without an issue. Try that.

Same here. Every time I hit the button at the correct time, whether I get it or not, it makes the standard guitar queer-o mistake sound. I can't advance any further. D:

Took me forever to find a post.  I was stuck too. You need to use the arrow keys and not wasd.

Same. Stuck on this part and i'm very frustrated. I've tried all combinations of things, such as only clicking for the cigarettes or the coffee/both and I've even missed all of them on purpose, attacked all the goth kids. Tried everything. I can't progress the story at all.

Same... I am clicking all the buttons and nothing seem to effect on my actions, it just finish them without progressing. and they say I dance like pop all the times.

You have to use the arrow keys instead of the WASD keys...took me forever to figure that out.

You need to use the arrow keys on your keyboard and not WASD

I found the answer on another forum. For the dancing section you use the arrow keys, not the wasd. It's not very intuitive, since you don't use the arrow keys for anything else. 

I registered just to say that I am also having the exact same problem.

I've also tried everything (PC VERSION) and it appears to be bugged. Nothing works, 

Don't use WASD, use the arrow keys and it will work.

This game uses the arrow keys instead of the ASDW keys.  Use the proper arrow keys and it will work.  The circles will glow blue when you hit them.

why does the answer need to be posted 12 times and people still say they are having issues?

 

USE THE ARROW KEYS ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF YOUR KEYBOARD
