Misfit Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 For the grossly uninformed kickstarter is a for-profit business that takes a 5% cut of monies that use their platform which in turn (in this specific case) the other 95% goes to Obsidian which is also a for-profit business.

Mmm... another pile of steaming troll bait. Have a good one dude. "It has just been discovered that research causes cancer in rats."
NovanIV Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Well, you just got $65 more dollars out of me obsidian, you might have announced it before, but that clarification that the box version would be DRM free, got me out of my comfy $20 slot (which I hope an entirely new backer picks up), and into the $65. And it was so easy to add on the expansion pack to that... Clever bastards.
Oscar Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Do Canadian physical tier backers need to add additional fees for shipping to Canada (e.g. $15 for the $65 reward tier)? Yes, I did read Adam's initial post in this thread, but I would just like to confirm.
Krios Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 As backers either on Kickstarter or on Paypal, we are funding the game. Obsidian is getting more than the value they spent to give out the incentives. The project is a profitable business, and we are donators / early contributors / people who pre-ordered, however you term it, Obsidian gets a profit and we get our money's worth when the final product is released.
