is it possible to lose an arm an eye or break a leg either in combat or through a failed climbing skill check?

will losing an eye cause diminished line of sight? losing an arm prevent me from holding that shield? etc.

will serious wounds be implemented and meaningful or will they be hand waved away with the all purpose healing potion?

as for my own preference: i'd like for healing potions to work on wounds, cuts, bruises and the like...but if major injuries happen i'd like to see a bit more effort put into healing them, perhaps i need to see a specialist, visit an alchemist who specializes in regeneration etc...or not...maybe i'm stuck with one arm, an eye patch and a peg leg and take up piracy.

i liked this in fallout and hope it makes a comeback with greater depth to it.

Yes, the injury system in Dragon Age was excellent in this regard.
