My suggestion is to have a functionality like on the Bioware Forums where you can mark the discussion threads you are interested in and then follow them via a personalized page "My topics".

 

I use this function to mark out interesting threads and then I can keep track on new posts or simply get back to them later (usually when I get back from work).

The board is starting to grow quite a bit. I'd like to see subscribable threads as well.

if you go into "my assistant" you can see your last 10 posts, and go to the thread to see who responded to it.
