I've been extremely infuriated by the K2 representation of the Basilisk, which is not THE Basilisk but a clear cut copy of the Viagra AKA Star Viper from other EU sources (Shadows of the Empire,Empire at War e.t.c)

I mean come on,everything regarding the K2 "Basilisk" is a textbook copy of the Star viper, just look at the c0ckpit for example, how the front canopy is bent is an exact replica of the Viagra's canopy.

And for Chris' excuse that "It looked stupid." -you can't really be serious now can you?If it looks "stupid",do it again, make it look really, really good but keep the shape and form the same, but PLEASE for the love of SW don't just plagiarize from Shadows of the Empire.

I mean Dustin Weaver (Comic artist for the KOTOR comic series) re-did the Basilisk and it looked awesome, how come Obsidian wasn't able to pull off anything like that in turn?

Obsidian can tell really good stories, but they suck something fierce at technical stuff. Look at all their well-known games; bugs and glitches out the wazoo, but almost universally praised for storyline, characterization and dialogue.

Well the only thing that slightly annoys me is that it's not even close to what Canderous' Basillisk was described like in the first one.

I honestly have nothing against the plot line of K2 but the Basilisk is a MOUNT not a FIGHTER,and it especially wasn't supposed to be the Viagra copy that Obsidian plagiarized from Shadows of the Empire.

"The Basilisk war droid version presented in K2 was an intentional departure from the ones presented in Tales of the Jedi, and we are happy, because frankly, those look really stupid. This is much the same reason that many of the designs in K1 are a departure from the ship designs in TOJ, and with good reason. So yes, the Basilisk droid version was an intentional departure from the older models, and we take full responsibility. It is noteworthy that LucasArts and Lucasfilm agreed with our decision on the first pass, much as they agreed with the decisions made with K1's look."

―Chris Avellone.

The two designs are canonical : an old one and a new one.

Things change and evolve.

Remember that, shortly before Kotor 2, at the time of the legend of the Jedi, lightsabers were connected to their energy cell by a cable!

Even that logic that the K2 Basilisk is a new version won't apply here.Canon or not,The Force Unleashed had a Basilisk, they got it right. The problem really lies on the fact that K2's basilisk was a very lazy and obvious ripoff of the shadows of the empire virago. It just shows that chris has some very unethical standards for ripping off the virago just like that, not to mention the immaturity of just dismissing the original Basilisk for the reason that "it looked bad".I mean come on even TFU had this thing right.

I hope Chris' failiures regarding K2 haunts him.
