What do you guys think of how a lot of companies are removing split-screen from their games and making it so the only multiplayer is online multiplayer? I for one love online multiplayer, but split-screen (and subsequently, system link) aren't entirely useless. Some people still like to play with friends and family in real life. A good model for split-screen is what Halo does, where you can have up to four people playing online at the same time, even if three of those people don't have Xbox Live Gold. Some games that don't have split-screen are Team Fortress 2, Aliens vs Predator (2010), and Medal of Honor (2010). Who else would like to see future games have split-screen and system link in them, in addition to online?

I tried playing Borderlands in split screen. It didn't really work. The screen area you saw for yourself was so small that a dog could be gnawing on you for five minutes before you managed to find out what was happening to you. But for racing games it is a must!

Console co-op and multiplayer should always have splitscreen. You dont want to bring an extra TV and console to your buddy just to play some Gears of War and drink gl

As long as it doesn't detract from the game.

GoW Split screen sucked ass! Hated it.

I came up with Crate 3.0 technology.

Crate 4.0 - we shall just have to wait and see.

Now the Spinward Marches don't look so GRIM!

Not only split screen but I wish consoles would support multi-screen output too. Probably need to dial down the graphics a bit since contemporary consoles are starting to choke a little on current games, but still.

Hotseat multiplayer on PC too please! Also split/multi-screen multiplayer on PC too thanks.
