I'm having a problem or I'm missing something obvious: when on a mission, I can use the PDA to bring up the inventory and look at the gadgets I have, but whenever I try to select one other than the one in slot # 1, when I go back to the main screen, the slot 1 gadget is still showing on my HUD. Can anyone help me with this?

Are you using the Gadgets Menu to select gadgets? That's not the PDA inventory, it's on the Z/X/C radial menu (where you also choose abilities and weapons).

You need to put different gadgets in different slots before the mission. You cannot change gadgets in the middle of a mssion.
