Hello,

I bought Alpha Protocol today and for some reason I am getting Error code: -1036 when I enter keycode. I have EU version of the game.

What I did so far:

I did reenter keycode few times, I did asked my brother to enter it aswell. Carefully checked every single number and letter I had to enter but still didnt work.

I also did shut down my firewall incase it was blocking but no help there. I also moved my IE as main browser, didnt work so I went back to Firefox.

I didnt really understrood what SEGA ment by offline activation its but messy and to be honest I dont get it... what file should I send.. what should I change.

I did use my keycode to check on SEGA page how many activations I used but message was that keycode isnt in use or something like that.

If anyone has same problems or has fix for it, please let me know. Thank you.

It's been a while so I can't remember perfectly, but:

-> Offline activation is a bit confusing. You need to use the activator program (in the AP install files, I believe, and its presented as a series of web pages) and select Disconnected/Offline Activation, which then creates a file for you. You then go to http://www.alphaprotocol.com/activation and use that file to activate.

You might also want to check with SEGA Support to see if your key is invalid / incorrect for some reason...

I finally managed to get work this offline activation but it seems that keycode printed on manual is incorrect. I did send SEGA ticket but no reply, and shop cannot take/change game for me since I already open'd it.

OK, it does seem like wrong key but unfortunately there's nothing Obsidian (or us) can do about that - as you'd already know that is solely the domain of Sega. I hope they do get back to you, though, if you're in the US maybe they have a call number?

I live in EU Finland, shop does not take game back or exchange it for new one. SEGA just send ansver to my ticket that they suspect its my Firewall... even tho I spesificly told them that I turned down my firewall AND windows XP firewall and they closed my ticket.

I gave up tbh.
