August 30, 201015 yr I recently purchased KOTOR 2 for PC. The game works fine but after I take control of my character, the movement is very slow and sometimes my movement keys will not respond. I'm running it on XP and the following is the summary of the scan that happened when I installed it: [sWKotOR] ReportDateTime=8/29/2010 1:03:58 AM SysInfoVersion=v1.00.60 GameExists=1 GameVersion=v2.00.424 GameInstallLocation=C:\Program Files\LucasArts\SWKotOR2\ [OS] Name=WinXP Version=Windows XP v5.1 build 2600 Service Pack 2 Service Pack=Service Pack 2 Status=Pass [swapFiles] C:\pagefile.sys=800 [CPU] CPUCount=1 CPUSpeed=3059 CPUFamily=15 CPUModel=4 CPUStepping=9 CPUVendor=Intel CPUName= Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 3.06GHz Status=Pass [Memory] RAM=504 Status=Warning [Disk Free Space] C: (NTFS), UNICODE=38.58GB Status=Pass [CD-ROMs] DriveLetters=D:\ Drives=SONY CDRWDVD CRX310S [Video] Video Card Name=Intel® G965 Express Chipset Family Video Memory=256 Desktop Resolution=1280x768x32 @ 60Hz DirectX=DirectX 9.0c (4.09.00.0904) OpenGL Version=1.4.0 - Build 6.14.10.4642 OpenGL Vendor=Intel OpenGL Renderer=Intel Broadwater G Vid Card Status=Warning Vid Card Driver Status=Pass GL Status=Pass DX Status=Pass [Audio] Sound Card Name=SigmaTel Audio Status=Pass ;Game Options from swkotor2.ini [Display Options] FullScreen=1 Disable Movies=0 Disable Intro Movies=0 Sort Modules=1 Width=640 Height=480 BitsPerPixels=32 RefreshRate=60 [sound Options] Disable Sound=0 [Graphics Options] EnableHardwareMouse=1 FullScreen=0 [Game Options] [config] firstrun=0 P.S. August 31, 201015 yr Two things that can help. First one is a site for tweaks that can enhance the performances of the game : http://www.tweakguides.com/KOTOR2_1.html Second one, try and find a bit more RAM, you are pretty short on this field. It will help you a lot.
September 1, 201015 yr Author Hey Thanks a lot. I just got done installing moar RAM All I need now is a new graphics card and I'll be good to go :D
September 2, 201015 yr Well, of course, with this video card, you will suffer a lot. Your PC seems a bit limit too, but of course, it's not that bad for a five year old game.
September 2, 201015 yr Author Now my next question is what kind of Graphics card do you or anyone else recommend?
September 2, 201015 yr The best compatible with your mother board. I'm not sure you will have a lot of choices with a P4. I don't remember mine, but something like a 6800 or 8800 Nvidia should be good. Edited September 2, 201015 yr by Orchomene
