Game doesn't launch

Recommended Posts

I've recently installed KotOR 2 on my computer running windows 7 home edition 64 bit. The problem I'm having is that the game doesn't appear to load at all. all it does is change the brghtness and spin up my cd and after that nothing happens, and the SWKotOR2.exe process disappears from the task manager. I replaced the Mss32.dll, but it didn't help. I tried disabling movies and sound and running in compatibility mode to no effect. Is there anything else I could try?

Do you launch the game directly or via the launcher ? Did you run the configuration manager at least one time before launching the main program ?

If so and still not working, open the swkotor2.ini with a text editor like notepad++ and check the refresh rate, the resolution and verify the compatibility with your monitor.

Then disable sound and most of the graphic options and see if it still fails. If with all disabled there is still failure, I can't think about anything but to uninstall properly and reinstall the game.
