Starcat Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 I had a motherboard crash on my old computer running XP. Now I have a new Dell running XP and I have installed kotor2 and started a new character so I know it will run kotor2. I have my old hard drive out of my old computer and in a docking station and pluged into my new computer through a USB. I can see the old installation but I can't find my old character to move him to my new computer and I don't know where to install him so he can be seen by my new installation of kotor2. Anyone know how to move a character?
Deadly_Nightshade Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 You need to find the save files and transfer them over. "Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum." -Hurlshot
Starcat Posted March 20, 2010 Author Posted March 20, 2010 You need to find the save files and transfer them over. I found the files for kotor2 but I don't know which files to transfer or where to put them. Can I just do copy and then paste?
Deadly_Nightshade Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 Can I just do copy and then paste? Yep, just copy them to the same place on the new drive and they should be right there. "Geez. I want teh kotor 3 Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 Or just use the savegame editor to make the same character... In 7th grade, I teach the students how Chuck Norris took down the Roman Empire, so it is good that you are starting early on this curriculum. R.I.P. Deadly_Nightshade Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 Or just use the savegame editor to make the same character... Stats are easy to replicate but the location and quests would be hard (it's doable but hard). "Geez. Darth_Shan Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 1. Just find the K2 directory and find the map that's called SAVES locate your savegames. They're named likes this: 000002 - Game1 2. Copy 000002 - Game1 to your new K2 directory on your new HD 3. You're done!
