Starke Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 (edited) Okay, I reinstalled TSL and can't get it to run. The intro videos run, and then I get a non-specific crash. I've tried overriding the mss32.dll I've tried overriding the video card drivers I've run it in compatibilty mode I used a piece of software to force a single core launch, which worked for about a minute before getting another ctd and I wasn't able to replicate it running. I've combined most of these running with the 3.0 version of the mss32.dll and running in compatibility 98/ME got it running intermittently, but, it would crash out in a couple of seconds from the main menu I've tried with and without the 0.1b patch which doesn't really help either. I'm running Windows Server 2003 (XP 64) sp2 a 64x dual core Athlon 4200 2 gigs of ram Nvidia 8800GTS (Kotor2 thinks there's a gig of ram, there's only 640 megs) Anyone have any idea what's going on here? Nihilus5078 Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Try disabling a processor, KotOR works best with only one core, but I've seen people get it to work on dual cores including myself. Other than that I really dont know.
Deadly_Nightshade Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Try disabling a processor... No, all he, or she, needs to do is set the affinity of that possess - disabling one core is unnecessary. "Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum." -Hurlshot

But KotOR works best with with single core processors. Mine works fine though but for the most part I've found single processors work best.
Deadly_Nightshade Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Try disabling a processor... No, all he, or she, needs to do is set the affinity of that possess - disabling one core is unnecessary. But KotOR works best with with single core processors. Mine works fine though but for the most part I've found single processors work best. And that is what setting affinity for a process does - it makes it run on a single core while allowing the rest of the PC to use both cores. As people have said before, please do not recommend things if you have no idea what you are talking about. "Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum." -Hurlshot
