im trying to patch the game but it wont let me, i get to 93% and an error comes up saying that im missing manual.pdf

iv tryed to copy from disk 1 but explorer.exe freezes untill i eject the disk

Not such a hot idea, asking people to do illegal distribution of copyrighted files. That unfortunately applies, even if you have the disks. It sounds like your disks have been damaged. Try to check them for scratches and see if cleaning the disks helps. If not,depending on where you live, you might want to try Lucas Arts support.
