Matthew Rorie
Anyone follow comics that read the Secret Invasion stuff? I liked the build-up to the crossover, but I thought that, in the end, the payoff was a bit of a letdown. But then, I like the ambition that Marvel seems to have for their crossovers, which are generally very well-executed. I can't remember the last DC crossover that was actually worth following. Oerwinde
Comic thread http://forums.obsidian.net/index.php?showt...=48061&st=0 Anyway I've been following it on Wikipedia, figured I'd borrow it off a friend or check out in the trades. I like the new status quo though with the less than noble characters now in control. The area between the balls and the butt is a hotbed of terrorist activity. Kaftan Barlast
I read the 8-part central miniseries, and I have to agree that it was slightly anticlimatic. There was some suspense in the beginning but then it levelled out midway and didnt really recover. I did giggle hystericly at the fact that Norman Osborn is the new director of shield! Marvels events are of very mixed quality, "Civil War" was awesome, "World war hulk" was complete rubbish and the older ones like "House of M" were quite uninteresting. The first crossovers were unreadable since they split essential story fragments over several titles instead of having a core miniseries were all the important stuff took place. DC's events are as mind-boggling as always, Ive been trying to get a grip on "Final Crisis" but its so strange thats its silly. I mean, you have cosmic rifts being guarded by nuclear-powered medieval knights riding giant dalmatians!?
