Magister Lajciak Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 I just received my new laptop and it does not come with a pre-installed OS, so I am trying to install Windows XP on it. The setup process, however, tells me that it cannot find any active HDD on the computer... Any advice as to what I can do? Can I 'activate' it somehow or something?
Magister Lajciak Posted November 8, 2008 Author Posted November 8, 2008 Never mind - problem solved - just some BIOS stuff.
Kaftan Barlast Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 Youve already solved the problem, but many winXP install discs doesnt come with SATA drivers and so cant be used to install win on a sata drive without supplying external drivers on a floppy, usb-stick or by slipstreaming the drives onto the cd.
