I think Marcus has pointed out your problems: Vista is problematic when running old games, particularly one as old and buggy as TSL. There are some Vista fixes, but seeing that you have limited resources in terms of RAM, they might not improve your gameplay as much. Would you consider installing XP on a partition on your HD?
